Strawberry Soil Moisture: GSP vs. Irramax
Replicated Trial • Florida • Sandy Soil • February 10-24, 2026 • Sentek Probe Data at 2” and 6’ Depths
2” Depth
At 2", Irramax averaged 10.75 vol% versus GSP's 6.32 vol% - roughly 116% higher on average (Irramax read more than double what GSP recorded on most days).
6” Depth
At 6", the gap is even more striking: Irramax averaged 10.91 vol% while the GSP check sensor averaged just 3.69 vol%, nearly 196% higher, or close to three times the reading.
Cotton Soil Moisture: GSP vs. Irramax
Replicated Trial • Texas • Sandy Soil • June 29 - September 20, 2025 • Sentek Probe Data at 2”, 6" and 10’ Depths
2” Depth
Irramax averaged more than 3x higher, with an average daily gap of 12.4 vol%. The gap never closed below 5.9 vol% on any single day.
6” Depth
Irramax averaged 26.19 vol% against GSP's 9.21 vol%, a 16.98 vol% daily gap on average, 186% higher.
10” Depth
Irramax averaged 25.21 vol% versus GSP's 6.56 vol%, nearly 4x higher (289%), with a gap that ranged from 13.6 to 24.9 vol%.
Corn Soil Moisture: GSP vs. Irramax
Replicated Trial • Nebraska • Sandy Soil • August 11 - 18, 2023 • Sentek Probe Data at 4”, 8" and 12’ Depths
Irramax averaged 17% wetter readings than GSP (43.9 vs. 37.6 vol%) across all three measured depths. Its moisture profile was also notably more uniform, with less than half the variation between 4" and 12" than GSP (1.1 vs. 1.7 vol%), indicating more even moisture distribution throughout the root zone.
Citrus Soil Moisture: GSP vs. Irramax
Replicated Trial • Florida • Sandy Soil • April 15 - May 6, 2026 • Sentek Probe Data at 2” and 6" Depths
2” Depth
At 2", Irramax averaged 6.85 vol% vs GSP's 5.61 vol% which is about 25% higher every day.
6” Depth
At 6", the gap is far larger: Irramax averaged 7.19 vol% vs GSP's 4.18 vol%, which is 75% higher, with a 3+ vol% difference that never closed on any single day.
*GSP shows greater day-to-day variability.
