Corbet Scientific Welcomes New Regional Director of Agronomy
JACKSON, WY (January 17, 2023) – Jesús Valencia joins Corbet Scientific as the Regional Director of Agronomy. In this role, he will advise key customers and prospects on Corbet’s products and technology and drive market share growth of Corbet products as a regional expert based in California. He will report directly to the CEO.
Most recently, Valencia was the Western Sales Agronomist Manager for NutriAg USA. In this role, he supported and expanded business in the western US and Mexico. Valencia holds a Bachelor of Science in agronomy and plant science as well as a Master of Science in plant protection and agricultural sciences from California State University Fresno.
Valencia’s background in agronomy and sales aligns well with Corbet’s mission to develop agricultural chemical solutions that enhance crop production and limit environmental impact, including its flagship adjuvant, Hydrovant®. His diverse skill set will help the organization navigate a new market for the company, as Hydrovant was just approved for sale and use in California.
“We’re all very excited to have Jesús on board. His extensive experience and knowledge give us an incredible advantage as we enter the California market,” Glenn Pacchiana, Corbet Scientific’s CEO, said.
Valencia said he looks forward to helping Corbet grow and expand as a company.
“My experience in research and development, launching new products, gathering sales leads, and more will help me to bring a fresh perspective to Corbet Scientific,” Valencia said. “I’m excited to put these skills to work to help this organization realize its potential.“
Groundbreaking Technology Provides Improved Efficacy at Lower GPA Rates for More Efficient Aerial Applications

The low GPA when using Hydrovant means we cover more acres in a shorter period with a lower cost per acre. It can also help growers facing a labor shortage. What you can do with one plane in a day might take several ground machines several days. Plus, it is rainfast, so you can do more in marginal weather conditions and still get the desired result.”

When introducing Hydrovant, the team at Corbet Scientific says it aims to bring a whole new category of adjuvants to the market.
Hydrovant is a polymer product, with its technology platform first developed in the medical industry. In agricultural applications, it is a first-of-its-kind activator sticker technology has the ability to tank mix with existing active ingredients (AI) in a variety of applications and crops to help products stay on the leaf and work longer. In its research, the company has shown Hydrovant increases the efficacy of both contact and systemic pesticides, pre emerge and post emerge herbicides and fertilizers.

Corbet Scientific Selected to Pitch Their Technology at the 2022 Ag Chem Summit Pitching Hour
Leaders in the agrochemical industry will learn more about the game-changing activator-sticker technology HYDROVANT ®
RALEIGH, NC (July 12, 2022) – Representatives from Corbet Scientific will present trial results for water-based adjuvant HYDROVANT® to leaders in the agrochemical industry during the Ag Chem Summit pitching hour on July 12 in Raleigh, NC. The pitching hour connects ag distributors and manufacturers to disruptors, like Corbet Scientific, in the agrochemical space. Only select companies are invited to present at the event.
“The technology in HYDROVANT transcends any current agricultural adjuvant performance,” said Tom Zangrillo, vice president for Corbet Scientific. “This product can be a game-changer on a farmer’s operation. The Ag Chem Summit pitching hour is an ideal way for us to showcase the power of HYDROVANT and connect with the companies that can get this innovative product into farmers’ hands.”
During the presentation, Corbet Scientific will discuss select findings from the more than 30 ongoing and replicated trials for HYDROVANT happening worldwide. Examples of research include a rainfast trial conducted at Sparks Isotope Lab at Cornell University. In this trial, HYDROVANT showed 40 percent more pesticide present after 28 days in rainforest conditions. Another replicated trial in the same lab found that bifenthrin insecticide with HYDROVANT applied to a wet leaf provided statistically similar pesticide adhesion to bifenthrin alone on a dry leaf. Plus, in foliar application trials HYDROVANT has never caused symptoms of phototoxicity.
HYDROVANT is a new Activator-Sticker Technology that when tank mixed, increases the efficacy of both contact and systemic pesticides, pre emerge and post emerge herbicides and fertilizers. It reduces the rate of run-off and allows pesticides or fertilizers to stay on the leaf and work longer. It works by creating a dynamic coating that holds the active ingredient in place and optimizes effectiveness while allowing carbon dioxide and other gasses to flow through to the plant. The result is more efficient applications, higher efficacy and lower environmental impact.
“We are thrilled to present at the Ag Chem Summit,” said Zangrillo. “This event is vital to the future of the ag industry, and we look forward to being part of the conversation.”
Tech keeps crop protection products where you want them

For Colorado farmer McConnell, the best test was his use of a popular three-way herbicide package to tackle Palmer amaranth and kochia on his operation. “I did the majority with Hydrovant on two applications,” he says. “On a 5-acre patch without Hydrovant, I applied the mix three times.”
He found that without the adjuvant, the 5 acres were overrun with weeds. As for the rest of the field where the adjuvant was used? “It smoked them,” he says.

Corbet Scientific to Make Inaugural Appearance at Commodity Classic
Company to showcase HYDROVANT-fA®, a new foliar and soil activator-sticker polymer that amplifies performance of herbicides and starter fertilizers
JACKSON, Wyo. (February 22, 2022) – Corbet Scientific is excited to announce its inaugural participation in Commodity Classic 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Attendees can visit Corbet Scientific in Booth 5605 to learn about HYDROVANT-fA®, a new advanced activator-sticker polymer technology with strong enhancement results in numerous foliar and soil applications of pesticides, bio-stimulants and liquid fertilizers.
“With the high cost of inputs this season, it’s going to be critical for growers to maximize their efficacy. Hydrovant-fA allows growers to amplify the performance of their inputs, including herbicides and starter fertilizers, said Tom Zangrillo, vice president for Corbet Scientific. “For example, when Hydrovant-fA is added to leading commercial formulations of glyphosate, the percentage of weeds controlled is superior.”
These replicated third-party research trials conducted by AgroCientifica in Argentina demonstrated that when Hydrovant-fA is added to the glyphosate formulations, the treatments provided greater than 95% control against key grass and broadleaf weeds compared to 68% control for glyphosate alone at 40 days following application.
Hydrovant-fA is a water-based adjuvant that protects plants and crop inputs. Combining Hydrovant-fA with a spray mixture ensures that crop protection chemicals and fertilizers stick without burning or suffocating the crop, while still nurturing plant growth. In addition, Hydrovant-fA has never caused phytotoxicity in any trial on any crop and in any climate.
Cornell University research shows that when applied with bifenthrin on corn leaves, Hydrovant-fA increased the retention of bifenthrin by 35% to 45% following a series of artificial rainfall events, compared to leaves sprayed with bifenthrin only.
Classified as an activator-sticker, Hydrovant-fA creates a dynamic coating to hold pesticides in place, optimizing the delivery effectiveness of the inputs while still allowing water and carbon dioxide to flow through to the plant.
Hydrovant-fA is registered in 14 countries with 16 countries pending registration and has patents pending in 36 countries, with patents issued in two countries.
“We’re excited to showcase Hydrovant-fA as a first-of-its-kind technology for row crops at Commodity Classic 2022,” said Corbet Scientific President and CEO Glenn Pacchiana. “Attendees can stop by Booth 5605 and learn more about how Hydrovant-fA can maximize the performance of their crop inputs in the upcoming growing season.”
